Quality Assurance Manager

Summary/Objective The Quality Assurance Manager position is responsible for overseeing the company Food Safety/Quality Assurance System at our Aston facility. This includes ensuring compliance with and modifying, as necessary, HACCP, SSOP’s, GMP’s, USDA regulations, Customer requirements, and other company food safety/quality policies.Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining and revising (if necessary) plant procedures, including HACCP, SSOP’s, GMP’s, and others.
• Responsible for control of most plant documents and records. Must be extremely organized, in this regard.
• Responsible for training all employees on food safety, HACCP, GMP’s, SSOP’s and other procedures
• Deep participation in food safety audits, including explaining all food safety programs to auditors and providing records upon request
• Primary contact for USDA personnel on issues related to food safety and addresses USDA Inspector concerns
• Manages QA technicians. Reviews their job performance
• Reviews performance of contract service providers, including sanitation and pest control.
• Conducts Internal Audits, along with other members of plant management
• Serves as the primary QA resource for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Oversees calibration of monitoring equipment.
• Oversees testing/sampling programs.
• Must learn company traceability procedures and perform mock recalls.
• Reports to upper management on food safety/quality issues, and trends.
• Conducts investigations due to customer complaints and if necessary, applies Corrective and/or Preventive Actions.
• Implements Quality improvement activities as appropriate to raise the performance of the company’s product lines.
• Maintains product labels and oversees new label approvals

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 2-3 years QA supervisory experience in a USDA or FDA inspected food processing plant.
• Deep Food Safety/Quality/Sanitation knowledge required.
• HACCP Certified strongly preferred
• SQF knowledge preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
