Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Specimen Processing Clerk, you will be responsible for receiving, labeling, and processing specimens as they arrive into the laboratory as well making sure they are delivered to their respective departments. • You will verify all pertinent patient information on specimens before receipt into the computer
• You will be ensuring specimens are properly prepared, labeled, and shipped or delivered to approved referral laboratories
• You will make sure that reports from referral specimens are posted, entered in the computer, and billed, if applicable, in a timely manner
• You will process specimens as required including centrifugation and preparation of aliquots
• You will process referral specimen test reports by entering all pertinent data accurately into the computer

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate or G.E.D
• Current license by state of Nevada as laboratory assistant or fully eligible if not already possessing
• Work experience in a clinical laboratory hospital setting performing referral or specimen processing preferred
