We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Mortgage Payment Processor to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to handle cash processing for both physical and electronic payments, ensuring that all transactions are completed within a 2-day Service Level Agreement (SLA). This ideal candidate will have attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
Ensures cash/funds are processed and balanced accurately within 48 hours of receipt according to department and investor guidelines.
Ensures rejected and/or misapplied funds are identified, researched, and resolved in a timely manner according to department guidelines.
Follows and develops department policy and procedures.
Understands and utilizes mortgage system's cash flow.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Four or more years of experience in business and general office environment
Preferred Skills/Experience
Proven experience in payment processing or a related field.
Previous experience in payment processing roles is a plus.
Proficiency in using MS Teams, Outlook, and Excel for reporting, research, and tracking.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use pre-made macros for efficient payment applications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with internal customers and cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented mindset to prevent errors in payment application.
Time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines consistently.
Familiarity with SLA requirements and commitment to meeting set timelines.
Ability to adapt to changes and efficiently resolve payment-related issues.
This position is hybrid, i.e., working typically One week at listed U.S. Bank location with flexibility to work remotely the other week.
