Role and Scope of Position:
This position performs data integrity analysis with our Distribution Outage Management System (OMS) and ensures all registries associated with OMS, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distribution Management System, (DMS), and other Distribution Control Center (DCC) applications and systems are kept up to date. In addition, support the performance of SCADA devices, the DMS application, the Outage Management System (OMS) and other related systems. This person must acquire proficiency and knowledge of the DMS, OMS, SCADA and other DCC systems and field control equipment.Essential Functions:
- Performs data integrity analysis on outage events
- Performs model management of the OMS system
- Performs day to day maintenance of OMS registries, review and correct abnormal summaries in OMS, and maintain the operator notes in OMS
- Performs analysis and evaluations of operational events with or without safety significance.
- Modifications to Substation Operating Instructions
- Assists with management of distribution equipment off-schedules
- Responds to requests for technical assistance from Engineering and other departments.
- Ensure new SCADA devices are modeled into the systems correctly.
- Reviews and processes System Change Notices (SCNs) for new equipment and devices installed on the Distribution System
- Explores requests for implementing new technologies into the Distribution Control Center including implementation, preparation of training documents and operating instructions
- Recommends corrective action based on review of system operations.
- Interfaces with other technologists and engineers to provide assistance in implementation of their projects.
- Assists with operational guidance during complex events
- Monitoring of smart field devices for system trends and alarms
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Knowledge of safety rules, applicable codes, standards and regulations affecting analysis, design, operations and maintenance of bulk power and distribution systems.
- Ability to analyze and interpret information, determines relevant facts, and makes decisions and recommendations accordingly.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organization and with counterparts in outside organizations.
- Ability to apply engineering and economic principles.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience/education
Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in engineering or engineering support activities
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $79600.00 to $99500.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
