    Summary:

    SUMMARY: The Mortgage Servicing Correspondence Specialist addresses correspondence matters for the mortgage servicing departments. The associate works closely with all mortgage servicing areas to prepare written documentation concerning customer requests or complaints within established timelines. The Mortgage Servicing Correspondence Specialist will work toward fulfilling the response to the customer’s request.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Formulate professionally written responses to incoming internal and external customer emails with accurate information and within the established timelines. Ensure requests and responses are property indexed to the loan.
    • Process automated integrated voice response (IVR) phone system requests timely and accurately.
    • Respond daily to faxes and distribute documents to appropriate department.
    • Process payoff requests and verification of mortgages (VOM) received via email and RightFax.
    • Identify and deliver qualified written requests (QWR’s) to the appropriate associate(s).
    • Process physical and returned mail items, including address/borrower change forms, adding authorized users, customer complaints, coupon requests, escrow documentation, and forwarding address information.
    • Identify patterns of errors/issues (such as website errors) via incoming requests and report them to the appropriate team to address.
    • Cross train in all correspondence duties and rotate job tasks.
    • Acquire and maintain base level knowledge of the following mortgage servicing areas: Cashiering, Escrow (Taxes, Insurance, PMI, EA), Refinance, Structured Loans, Loan Boarding, Lien Release, Homeowner’s Assistance, and Customer Service. Remain current on servicing updates as they are made available.
    • Understands and complies with bank policies, laws, regulations, and the bank’s BSA/AML Program, as applicable to job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adherence to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policies, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

    EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:

      • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
      • 1 year of customer service experience required.
      • 6 months of mortgage, banking, financially regulated or equivalent related experience required.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Word required.
      • Mortgage lending/servicing experience preferred.
      • Business writing skills preferred.
