The Mortgage Loan Servicing Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Position Summary
Responsible for performing a variety of mortgage loan servicing functions including auditing new loan setup, performing system maintenance on loan accounts, reconciling monthly MERS records, and assisting members with mortgage-specific servicing requests. Assists with administering escrow accounts (property tax, insurance and mortgage insurance) under the direction of the Section Manager. Escrow administration duties include setting up new escrow accounts in the system, reviewing insurance policies, and monitoring reports from the insurance tracking vendor. Ensures the integrity and accuracy of all loan records and data in the system of record. Keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which affect the activities of consumer and mortgage loans. Performs miscellaneous loan servicing activities as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience- At least two years of related experience in Mortgage Servicing or the equivalent.
- Basic understanding of loan servicing functions.
- Knowledge of related computer applications.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Strong typing abilities.
- Well organized and attentive to detail.
- Good communication and public relations skills.
- Ability to cooperate with and assist others.
- Solid math and bookkeeping abilities.
