This Position:

This position performs administrative duties for the processing of residential loan applications in accordance with HFCU and investor policies and guidelines.  The Mortgage Loan Processor I is committed to building relationships with borrowers, team members and vendors and works collaboratively with all parties to originate and process loans from application through scheduling the closing. They will successfully communicate the credit union difference, the mortgage process, and set realistic expectations for members and all interested parties throughout the process.  While experience in these tasks is ideal, the right candidate can be trained in all aspects of this role.

Starting Salary: $17.80-18.45/hour

Who We Need:

We're looking for individuals who are comfortable with administrative duties. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are ideal qualities to thrive in this role. 

Full-Time Schedule, 40 Hours Per Week Monday-Friday, with the possibility for overtime. Ability to work a flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. This position has the potential to work a hybrid schedule after an initial training period. Due to the requirements of this position, the initial training period may last anywhere from six (6) to eighteen (18) months.  Hybrid schedule must be approved and is granted on a case by case basis.

Essential Functions and Basic Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, timely, accurate communication with borrowers and all essential parties to ensure a positive experience for all
• Issue all required documents and disclosures from application through scheduling the closing in a timely and accurate manner
• Request all verifications requested and required from application through scheduling the closing
• Request additional items and documents from the borrowers as required for the loan and follow up on outstanding items
• Review all submitted verifications and documents from all parties for accuracy and completion
• Provide administrative support to competently complete all aspects of the process in an accurate, timely and efficient manner within established timeline expectations
• Maintain a clean and well-organized work area and contribute to the overall cleanliness of the HFCU properties
• Perform miscellaneous requests, respond to email and phone inquiries, file, fax and mail information.   Assist and back-up other staff as needed.
• Assist in identifying and correcting any deficiencies found in the files during pre and post-closing quality control reviews in a timely and efficient manner

Required Education and Job Competencies

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work cohesively in a fast-paced team environment
• Attention to detail and superior organization required for all processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to utilize various computer systems

Working Conditions/Environment:

This position requires working primarily at a workstation or desk in an open office environment. Daily tasks include extensive use of a computer performing standard keyboard functions, requiring repeated motion. Stretching breaks are recommended to avoid injury. Some light lifting required.
