PRIMARY PURPOSE

Process new residential mortgage, equity, and consumer loan applications as outlined in the Bank’s policies including obtaining and analyzing financial information, credit bureaus, appraisals, and property searches.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare disclosures, lock in forms, commitments, and deliver closing instructions to the closing agent.
  • Order/review credit reports, flood search, appraisal, property checks, private mortgage insurance, IRS Transcripts.
  • Responsible for completed VOE forms; ordered through 3^rd party source.
  • Prepare/deposits/run credit cards for deferred fees; application/appraisal/lock in fees/construction fees.
  • Collect and review loan documentation to prepare files for underwriting; clear underwriting conditions once loan is approved.
  • Calculate debts and income for all sources including self-employment income.
• Processes extension requests, change in loan programs and loan amounts; processes commitment extensions on residential and construction loans.
• Meets with clients to gather documentation.
• Provide consistent follow-up with loan originators, borrowers, and management to complete processing.
• Build rapport with both our internal and external customers.
• Answers mortgage hot line calls. 
• Performs related duties as assigned and/or required for efficient operation of the department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

• Working knowledge of residential, consumer and construction loans.  Full knowledge of Agency and Secondary Market underwriting guidelines.  
• Must be abreast of current regulations including TRID, HMDA, etc.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word; Excel and other Banking software and applications.  Knowledge of Encompass software is a plus.
• Ability to run loans through Automated Underwriting Systems including DU/LP.
• Great interpersonal skills with the ability to interact in an appropriate and timely manner with all internal/external clients.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically Excel and Word.
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately in both verbal and written form.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Ability to manage time, resources, and set priorities to accomplish multiple duties.
• Ability to maintain and report on confidential information in an appropriate manner. 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• 3 years’ experience in banking or other financial institution in a lending capacity.  Mortgage processing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry specific experience

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Office environment. Sitting for long periods of time.  Daily use of wrists, hands, and fingers to use computer and telephone. Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering and giving simple to complex information.
