Mortgage Loan Processor, Garden City, KS

We are currently seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor in our Garden City Branch. At the core of KCB Bank’s culture is service. Our mortgage  team is an integral part of the exceptional customer experience we, as a bank, strive to provide, assisting customers from start-to-finish with their mortgage loan needs. The mortgage processor position works hand in hand with our mortgage loan officers to ensure loan documentation is received and completed in a timely and efficient manner. Responsible for ensuring the loan flows through underwriting and manages the bank’s communication with outside vendors such as title companies, appraisers, and surveyors.

Job Functions:

• Reviews new loan applications.
• Prepares and issues conditional loan approvals for borrowers.
• Orders appraisals, credit reports, and title work.
• Verifies employment, salary, assets, and liabilities. 
• Resolves loan application problems.  Assists applicants with addressing credit report problems, low appraisals, low salary levels, and high debt ratios.
• Reviews information for completeness and accuracy.  Clarifies missing or questionable information.  Follows up with outside sources of outstanding documents.  Ensures all necessary items are available for underwriting.  Tracks development of information to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
• Communicates status of loans to buyer, seller, realtor, and title company. 
• Prepares files for closing.  Obtains records for homeowner's insurance and flood certification.
• Issue checks for closing.
• Prepares monthly status report.
• Prepares miscellaneous correspondence and records.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

• Experience in mortgage loan processing
• Basic knowledge and understanding of mortgage software, familiarity Laser Pro is a plus
• Knowledge and understanding of real estate documentation
• Provides excellent customer service to borrower, loan officer, vendors, and other interested parties
• Experience working in a fast paced and changing environment

• Experience with attention to detail, written and oral communication, multi-tasking, and working in a team atmosphere adhering to tight deadlines
• Proficient with MS Office software products
• High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
