Mortgage Loan Processing Supervisor supervises a team of loan processors to ensure that new mortgage loan packages are processed and completed according to established policies and procedures. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Within authorized authority, and in accordance with sound underwriting practices as set out in policy and procedure, this position interviews mortgage loan applicants, initiates applications for credit or extension of lines of credit secured by real property at the member’s home, place of business, or other appropriate locations external to the organization’s facilities. Assists members with other products the Credit Union offers. Plans and participates in real estate business development activities required to promote real estate loan products. This individual will also periodically assist the Department Manager in the daily operations and planning of the mortgage function.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position demands accuracy in documentation from application taking to closing documentation and following established policies, practices, and procedures for originating and closing of real estate lending. Must possess the ability to originate loans so they may be properly closed in a timely manner. Make office calls to Realtors/Builders, Branches, and Select Partner groups on a regular basis.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Qualified person must be able to read and interpret documents such as credit bureau reports, debt to income ratio reports, policy and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence along with the ability to speak effectively with borrowers and other partners of organization will be required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Individual must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The individual must have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where a considerable amount of standardization exists. In addition, the individual must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written form, including but not limited to Loan Policy and Procedural Manuals, Regulation Z, The Fair Credit Reporting Act, and Mortgage Lending regulations.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Must possess excellent communication, organization, time management and decision-making skills and have extensive knowledge of all types of mortgage loan programs as well as thorough knowledge of secondary market requirements. In addition, this position must have a thorough knowledge of Federal and State regulations affecting mortgage lending plus a working knowledge of secondary market requirements including origination, underwriting, documentation, loan delivery and servicing 1-4 family loans including construction loans and FHA/VA products.
