Loan Processing Specialist

Purpose

In accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations, this position is responsible for the Mortgage, Home Equity and Consumer Loan processing activities for the Bank. This position reports to the Loan Operations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Loan Processing

1. Ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing of loans after the application is received.
2. Review applications for completeness and compliance. Make introductions to applicant and follow-up with lenders should information be missing.
3. Place order for appraisal and title and complete the appropriate loan program.
4. Coordinate the loan closing, prepare closing documents, review attorney closing documentation and fund the loan.
5. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of construction loan documentation and the coordination of all involved parties.
6. Maintain strong working knowledge of loan products and program guidelines to ensure compliance with loan programs.

1. Communications/Coordination

1. Interact directly with outside vendors who provide service to the Bank as it pertains to the loan process. (i.e. Attorneys, Appraisers, Realtors, Title Companies, Tax Service, Flood Companies, Credit Bureau)
2. Work closely with appropriate FSB staff (Loan Originators and Retail Banking) to keep staff apprised of loan status and request required documentation.
3. Work directly with loan applicants after an application is received through the time the loan is closed, declined or withdrawn.

• Compliance/Quality Control

1. Remain properly trained and educated on all regulatory requirements that must be satisfied as part of the lending process.
2. Ensure all required documentation has been obtained, well-organized and filed/scanned accurately and timely to meet regulatory and/or investor requirements.
3. Responsible for sending appraisal to applicant according to required timeframes.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIRED:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Banking experience preferred.

1 – 2 years of loan processing or other related experience is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Some physical effort and lifting is required with the handling of light materials and supplies.

Physical effort is involved with respect to dexterity and visual attention as needed for the frequent operation of personal computers and other office equipment.

Normally seated with the freedom of movement on a regular basis.
