Mortgage Credit Analyst assesses the risk and creditworthiness of loan applicants and recommends loan approval, terms, or application denial. Gathers necessary credit, income, and tax information to conduct financial assessments. Being a Mortgage Credit Analyst reviews and verifies property appraisals, collateral value, and key indicators such as debt-to-income and loan-to-value ratios. Prepares a detailed credit analysis and summary using underwriting guidelines, risk assessment frameworks, and following applicable regulatory compliance. Additionally, Mortgage Credit Analyst may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Mortgage Credit Analyst work is closely managed. The Mortgage Servicer is responsible for ensuring the servicing of mortgage and home equity lines of credit are completed according to Launch Credit Union procedures and within Federal and State regulations relating to the mortgage loan servicing operations. The Mortgage Servicer meets with members in person or by phone. This person must demonstrate Launch Credit Union’s Core Values. This person is not required to have a NMLS number.
1. Assists members with questions/errors on all mortgage loan and escrow accounts.
2. Posts mortgage and escrow payments. Sets up auto pay on mortgages at member’s request.
3. Works with third party vendors to ensure proper payment of Homeowner and Flood Insurance payments. Force places homeowner’s insurance as needed.
4. Balances and monitors PMI insurance coverage.
5. Completes Escrow Analysis and Year End Process annually. Is able to explain and educate the escrow analysis to members.
6. Maintains appraisal-ordering rotation for mortgage loan origination. Processes payments for all appraisals.
7. Assists members with homeowner’s insurance damage claims. Pays out funds when needed.
8. Prepares payoff statements for members and third-party requests. Ensures the Satisfaction of Mortgage is executed accurately.
9. Audits and reviews new loan files. Ensures new mortgages are executed accurately.
10. Audits and balances Mortgage General Ledger accounts.
11. Works closely with Closing/Funding, Quality Control Processor to ensure a quality member experience during the transition from loan origination to loan servicing.12. Scans closing package to member file. Creates paper file for document vault.13. Maintains Collateral Tracking Report and follows up on recorded mortgages and final title policies.
14. Supports Launch CU’s vision to be the first choice for financial services in the counties we serve, and to serve as the primary financial institution for our members. Is knowledgeable about other credit union products and services and actively refers these to our members.
15. Stays abreast of real estate servicing rules and regulations.
16. Adheres to email and telephone etiquette guidelines, including prompt replies.
1. Makes corrections for escrow shortages and overdrafts.
2. Orders supplies and pay bills for the Real Estate Loan Servicing.
3. Cancels PMI insurance as needed.
4. Follows all Launch Credit Union policies and procedures.
5. Completes assigned compliance training in a timely manner.
6. Attends meeting and training sessions as required.

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Minimum of one year of similar experience or one year of experience in a customer service role whereby attention to detail was paramount to the position. Strong mathematical/accounting skills preferred.
3. Displays courtesy, tact, and diplomacy during personal contact with others inside and/or outside of the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. Strong organizational, verbal, and interpersonal skills.4. Ability to utilize and learn a variety of specialized computer software programs necessary to mortgage loan servicing including but not limited to basic Credit Union business software and document preparation, with a proficient knowledge of Word and Excel programs.
5. Detail oriented, accurate, able to work under pressure, ability to change, and problem-solving skills.
6. Analytical, decision making, time management skills.
7. Has an understanding of the paperwork required for each mortgage type.
8. Must have the ability to use a computer and calculator.
