Being a Mortgage Credit Analyst reviews and verifies property appraisals, collateral value, and key indicators such as debt-to-income and loan-to-value ratios. Prepares a detailed credit analysis and summary using underwriting guidelines, risk assessment frameworks, and following applicable regulatory compliance. Additionally, Mortgage Credit Analyst may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Mortgage Credit Analyst work is closely managed.     Basic Function

    This role will take incoming leads from Spanish speaking clients & review, qualify and process loan applications, coordinate the approval or disapproval of loan applications within established investor limits and facilitate disbursement of loan funds.  

    Responsibilities:

    • Originate and make sales of loan packages to customers, including meeting and counseling with customers at their homes and offices.  
    • Engage in marketing, promotion and business development activities in support of sales, including calling on real estate agents and brokers, financial advisors and other potential referral sources.  
    • Provide applicants with information regarding the loan application process.  
    • Provide applicants with available options pertaining to their mortgage loan needs.  
    • Counsel customers with respect to credit needs.  
    • Obtain complete loan application including all supporting documentation needed to process the loan.  
    • Pre-qualify potential loan applicants by analyzing financial background.  
    • Follow-up on processing the loan by obtaining additional applicant information if necessary.  
    • Maintain communications between the lender and borrower.  
    • Establish rate with borrower verbally and in writing prior to settlement.  
    • Understand and support the corporation's policies and procedures to provide proper and effective treatment to all of the corporation's customers.  
    • Resolve any customer problems in an expeditious and tactful manner.  
    • Review and report complaints received from customers and recommend corrective action to management.  
    • Other duties as assigned


    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Active NMLS license
    • Fluency in English and Spanish required
    • 2 years of mortgage origination or lending experience required
    • Knowledge of basic loan programs and loan structuring needed for success
    • Dedicated to growing yourself and your skills
    • Desire to grow and be coachable with the best leadership in the industry
    • Have comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations.  

    Must be able to pass a criminal history information background check. Other duties may be applicable as business needs may dictate and as assigned by management. If you are working remotely, you must have access to reliable, high-speed internet (not satellite; Minimum of 25 Mbs download speed and 15 Mbs upload speed).

    Compensation:

    This position pays the prevailing minimum wage, as determined by local ordinance, plus commissions - 50 bps on lead generated closed loans and 80 bps on self-generated closed loans.
