Ideal Candidate will have knowledge of:
Ø Supervisory principles and practices, including work planning, assignment, and review.
Ø Principles, practices, tools, equipment, and supplies required to maintain and repair wastewater collection systems.
Ø Basic principles and practices of mobile equipment servicing and repair.
Ø Techniques for troubleshooting complex equipment problems and for estimating staff time, materials, and equipment required for repair.
Ø Basic operational and maintenance practices of electrical motors, pumps, and circuitry.
Ø Principles and practices of public agency contract oversight.
Ø Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulatory codes, ordinances, and procedures relevant to assigned area of responsibility.
Ø Computer applications related to the work.
Ø Techniques for providing a high level of customer service to public and District staff, in person and over the telephone.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Supplemental college coursework or college degree in business or public administration, or related field preferred. Minimum five (5) years of experience in skilled maintenance of facilities and/or equipment in wastewater collection systems. Previous lead and/or supervisory experience is highly desirable.
Under general supervision, plans, organizes, directs, oversees, and personally performs full-range skilled-level work in support of District wastewater collection system installation, inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance, and repair activities; ensures that all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements are met; and performs other duties as assigned. Exercises general supervision over Collection Systems staff.
