POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accounts Receivable/Collection Specialists primary responsibility will be to make collection calls to customers. He/She will back up posting and reconcile payments using various software programs when needed. He/she will also mail monthly statements. He/she will also pursue collection of terminated accounts.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Make daily collection calls
• Conduct account research and analysis
• Maintain an accurate aging report
• Identify and process any necessary account adjustments
• Reconcile and resolve account discrepancies
• Send statements to outstanding customers
• Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues
• Provide customer service to customer inquiries regarding payment history
• Print monthly agings and post results
• Sort and file documents after posting
• Backup for posting payments to customer accounts when necessary.
• To include checks, money orders, ACH, EFT and Credit Cards

TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, AND WORK AIDS

• Computer, fax, copier, phone, scanner

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong collections background
• Detail Oriented
• Speedy, accurate data entry skills
• Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and with accuracy
• Basic accounting principles knowledge
• Research and resolution skills
• Data analysis and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to interact with employees and customers in a professional manner
• Strong communicator, effective both paper and over the phone
• Proficient in Excel and Word, Power Point also helpful
• Ability to follow standard filing procedures
• Ability to work independently and with a team with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma, some college preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Work in an office environment, sitting most of the work day
