Role Brief:
WHEAT is a multi-faceted, destination-focused, luxury retail company; incorporating a broad portfolio of retail destinations (incorporating an in-hospitality division & a stand-alone division); a domestically produced, eco-conscious clothing collection designed for the luxury traveler; and a hospitality retail consulting arm. The Manager for Martha’s Vineyard will oversee The Shop by WHEAT retail and the STRAND cafe location on the island. They are expected to be a strong representation and reinforcement of company values and standards, and preferably will have something of an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal candidate will be passionate about luxury fashion and have a deep knowledge of the brands we carry, and be extremely fastidious when it comes to inventory and organization. They will have some experience within the food industry and be able to draw upon past experiences to ensure that regulations and standards are being upheld. In addition, the ideal candidate will become extremely familiar with WHEAT Collection line that includes luxury essentials, candles, and fragrances. Having a familiarity of the local area and understanding seasonal sales trends is also highly beneficial. This candidate will be able to draw upon their previous management experience to help lead the team to success in reaching monthly store sales goals, maintaining visual displays, and consistency within the cafe and the beverages sold. Prior experience in supervising a team, cash handling, register operations, supply/food ordering, and light cleaning duties is a must. The candidate must be able to work independently and be willing to problem solve effectively. This role will require a strong ability to communicate both verbally and written on a day to day basis, along with weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting to the Head of Operations and Home Office team.
