A Closing Paralegal is responsible for providing comprehensive support during real estate closings. Your role involves assisting attorneys and clients by preparing and reviewing legal documents, and ensuring that all aspects of the closing process adhere to legal requirements and industry regulations. Attention to detail, legal expertise, and ability to manage complex transactions are instrumental in facilitating successful real estate closings.
Duties and Responsibilities
Document Preparation• Drafting and preparing legal documents related to real estate transactions, such as contracts, deeds, mortgages, and closing statements.Title Insurance• Coordinating the receipt of title insurance binder for closing and collecting the appropriate premiums.• Reviewing the title binder and satisfying all requirements prior to closing.Coordination with Stakeholders• Facilitating communication and coordination among various parties involved in the closing process, including buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents, and other attorneys.Closing Preparation• Organizing and preparing for the closing, ensuring all necessary documents are in order, and coordinating the timing of the closing.Reviewing Closing Documents• Thoroughly reviewing all closing documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.Client Communication• Keeping clients informed about the progress of the closing process, explaining legal documents, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.Financial Transactions• Handling the financial aspects of the closing, including disbursing funds, collecting payments, and ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.Compliance and Due Diligence• Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, and conducting due diligence to identify and address any potential legal issues.Problem Resolution• Identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the closing process to ensure a smooth and successful transaction.Continued Education• Keeping abreast of changes in real estate laws and regulations, attend trainings, and staying informed about industry best practices.About COSTNER LAW/ARK TITLE GROUP
