Our Idaho Team is currently seeking one Rig Monitor Technician to join our summer field program working on a phosphate exploration drilling program near Soda Springs, Idaho. Technician will be responsible for boxing and tracking core as it is drilled and tracking drilling activities at the drill site. Guidance and oversight will be provided by the site Professional Geologist. If applicant is a current student in geology or other applicable science program, this position will be considered a paid internship.
Specific Responsibilities
· Promote a safe and productive working environment.
· Track and log drilling operations.
· Accept and box core as it is provided by the driller at the drill pad.
· Record data such as drill hole, depth of core, recovery, and depth to groundwater.
· Work 12 hour shifts 6:00pm to 6:00am.
· Four (4) days on/four (4) days off.
· Attend pre-job training and orientation.
· Work closely with technical staff and project manager to execute work on projects.
Preferred skills and experience of the position include:
· Bachelor’s degree in, or currently working towards obtaining, Mine Engineering, Geology, Geological Engineering, or related field.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Ability to learn and take directions from others.
Employment Conditions:
· Must be legally eligible to work in the United State of America
· Successful completion of a pre-employment background screen, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, and a pre-placement fitness for duty evaluation
· These positions will be stationed out of the Mine Office. Technicians will be expected to drive to the mine office. Work Schedule will include rotating 10-day-on, 4-day-off schedule.
· This position is subject to a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test. We offer a competitive hourly wage.
· Employment will be through a third party but reporting and work assignment will be managed by Stone Ridge Contracting.
