Responsibilities

A Day In The Life Of A P&C Actuarial & Underwriting Modeling Model Architect

State Farm P&C Actuarial & Underwriting Modeling (PCM) team is looking for an experienced Model Architect to join our innovative, dynamic and fast paced team of exceptional data science professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serves as high level consultant/researcher on department initiatives
• Engages in the development, interpretation, implementation and support of several different types of statistical modeling, machine learning and AI techniques
• Reviews and analyzes data in innovative ways to further refine the underwriting, pricing, and risk selection objectives of the enterprise
• Identifies new data elements, criteria, or factors for use in underwriting and pricing
• Conducts studies using department resources in conjunction with other financial/research areas of the enterprise
• Consults with clients on the use of modeling, machine learning and AI, assessing needs and defining project scope
• Participates in external professional and industry committee/studies
• Applies programming skills to make use of computer intensive analysis techniques
• Routinely engages in quantitative analysis on many non-standard and unique business problems
• Uses knowledge of business areas and research skills to address and solve a diverse range of real-world business issues and to solve business problems

Qualifications

We Are Looking for Candidates With

• 10 or more years of experience
• Possesses technical skills and educational experiences in one or more of the following fields: Information Technology, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, and/or Data Science.
