    The Opportunity:

    The Senior Application Developer is responsible for helping the organization achieve business goals with software solutions. The Senior Application Developer will work under the guidance of the Director of Application Development to mentor other application developers within the organization and will lead projects that consist of designing, developing, and maintaining software applications. The Senior Application Developer will share knowledge and experience to help enhance team development and competency.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities of the Senior Application Developer:

    • Develop and maintain application software programs, crystal Reports and scripts in support of organizational objectives, both strategic and operational.
    • Understand and analyze business requirements in order to develop and/or recommend technical or procedural design solutions
    • Ensure that internally developed application programs, crystal Reports and scripts are thoroughly tested prior to implementation.
    • Understand QNXT application (functionality, database structures, interfaces and reports) as needed to perform assigned job tasks.
    • Participate in implementing system conversions and upgrades.
    • Work collaboratively with other Information Systems staff, exchanging information as appropriate in support of organizational and departmental objectives.
    • Participate in technical design reviews as needed, making recommendations as appropriate.
    • Develop and maintain documentation as needed.
    • Keep supervisor informed of activities and issues.
    • Pursue professional development as necessary to enhance job performance.
    • Other duties as assigned by CIO or IT Management.
    • Responsible to maintain AlohaCare’s confidential information in accordance with AlohaCare policies, and state and federal laws, rules and regulations regarding confidentiality. Employees have access to AlohaCare data based on the data classification assigned to this job title.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree Required in Computer Science, Programming, or similar curriculum.

    • Minimum 5 Years of experience as an Application Developer.

    • Combination: Equivalent combination of education, experience and credentialing.

    • Health care industry experience within managed care, hospital, medical office or equivalent.

    • Previous experience with QUEST, QI and/or any Medicare program.

    • Strong verbal and written communication in English.

    • Requires operation of general office equipment to include; PC, fax/copy machine and ACD Mitel Phones.

    • Intermediate skill using Microsoft Programs; Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

    • Strong knowledge of Transact-SQL (MS SQL Server), C#, ASP.NET, AJAX, HTML, CSS and javascript.

    • Familiarity with .Net Framework.

    • Knowledge on emerging web technologies and internet/web security.

    • Understanding & working knowledge of relational database, SQL Server & Internet Information Server (IIS).

    • Available for weekend or extra hours work during project implementation.

    • Available for on-call duties if required to support critical application.

    • Strong coding, debugging, and problem solving skills and ability to express idea clearly.

    • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet the deadlines.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Previous experience with the Cognizant QNXT software system.

    Mental, Physical and Environmental Demands:

    • Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

    Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 annually
