Mixer operates and tends machines that mix materials or ingredients used for production processes or manually mix ingredients. Loads materials into mixing equipment and ensures results comply with specified batch requirements. Being a Mixer may utilize tools, devices or heavy equipment to move materials from inventory to production area. Documents operational information as required. Additionally, Mixer cleans and sanitizes processing equipment, tanks, filters, pipes, lines, and pumps. Follows hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment requirements, if applicable. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mixer works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Description
We have an immediate opening for a Batchmaker in our Cypress facility to ensure the safe, quality and consistent mixing of all production batches based on orders received and stock levels.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Following batch making schedule and making all liquids necessary to fulfill orders
• Taking all batch samples with corresponding batch sheet to Chemist for quality control
• Reporting all problems and concerns with new and existing formulas to Chemist
• Keeping all raw materials properly labeled and stored and in their proper location
• Ensuring that all batch tanks, drums, pails, and lab samples are properly identified and labeled
• Providing Purchasing with a weekly requisition for raw materials to be ordered
• Ensures housekeeping including a clean, organized batch area, in compliance with all safety regulations
• Relocates chemicals received
• Handling other special projects and requests as needed
Batchmaker – Starting pay $20.00 per hour; salary range $20.00 to $26.60 per hour
Requirements
In order to be successful, you will need:
• Ability to follow product formula instructions, properly blend chemicals, and understand Safety Data Sheets
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Forklift Certification/Experience
• Ability to safely lift bottles, boxes, tools, equipment, and other necessary items
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Detail oriented with the ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions
