Mine Manager is responsible for the overall management of mining projects. Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance. Being a Mine Manager ensures the safety and health of mine workers. Recommends corrective action when problems are detected. Additionally, Mine Manager may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. May require certification by the MSHA. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Mine Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Mine Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. In this role you will support a positive safety culture by assisting with the activities and engaging with staff within a mining environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards.
