Responsible for the overall cleanliness and lighting of all buildings and residential halls, as well as the custodial staff who service those buildings / halls.
Will act as a liaison with residence hall recycling group, as well as facilities' recycling personnel. Coordinates daily work assignments to cover for absences and vacations.
Inspects work of custodians to ensure quality levels are maintained. Provides training to custodians, as required, to eliminate deficiencies.
Monitors safety practices of custodial personnel in residence halls.
Key Responsibilities :
Communicates with student recycling groups about residence hall recycling programs and with students as an advocate for resident-custodian advocacy.
Stores hazardous materials in accordance with codes and regulations. Follows college procurement procedures when obtaining supplies.
Evaluates cleaning quality in residence halls. Provides supervision and training needed to correct deficiencies. Records quality and cleaning trends and shares information with custodial supervisor.
Alerts supervisor or the service desk of maintenance issues or deficiencies.
Manages all buildings and residence hall operations in a safe manner in accordance with federal, state and local safety codes.
Handles all chemicals and wastes in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets. Makes sure all universal wastes are properly stored for disposal and not placed in the compactor.
provides appropriate support in major campus events such as commencement, opening of school, and snow removal activities to maintain campus operations.
