Mine Foreman supervises a staff who prepares, inspects, and works in mining projects such as underground or surface mining. Ensures the staff performs project research, design calculations, and records accuracy of mining activities. Being a Mine Foreman may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or in a related area. May require certification by the MSHA. Additionally, Mine Foreman typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Mine Foreman manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Travels to jobsites as a team Foreman to perform and lead various installation tasks related to industrial mechanical contracting projects. This may include tasks related to welding, rigging, millwright, painting, etc., and frequently requires working from ladders, high reaches and working under other challenging conditions. The Field Foreman will meet or exceed all requirements as outlined in this job description.
