At Balfour Beatty Construction in Savannah, Georgia, we are seeking a Foreman. This role assists the Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Carpenters in coordinating subcontractors or supervises BBC laborers and trade workers at the construction site. May be responsible for various construction duties at the site. May monitor work performance, progress and productivity of subcontractors and laborers/craft workers. Directly oversees the performance of workers completing specific phases of construction to meet company standards and client expectations.
Essential Functions
Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
Competency to erect scaffolding (OSHA certification required) and assists carpenters in ladders for assembling structures above ground.
Can do some level 1 carpentry (can assist as a carpenter s helper).
Manages time cards, coding and maintain timesheets for Laborers.
Establishes and adjusts Laborers schedules to meet production schedule
Supervise Balfour Beatty labor crews.
Supervises composite clean- up crews.
Schedules and calls for dumpster pulls
Conducts Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) with crew.
Conducts tool box safety talks.
Can serve on Project Safety Team.
Motivates Laborers to meet work goals.
Trains new Laborers.
Mentor and supports development of subordinates.
