Millwright jobs in Norman, OK

Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. Follows all work site safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require OSHA Forklift Operator Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Millwright works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Millwright typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.     1. Install and/or remove electric motors at customer’s location.
    2. Troubleshoot and test electric motor installations, using various methods and testing equipment.
    3. Align motor shafts, couplings, gearboxes, pumps, fans, and other connected equipment at customer’s location using LASER alignment systems
    4. Verify actions using various start-up testing procedures.
    5. Operate specialized equipment, including but not limited to thermal imaging (FLIR), megohmmeter, high-voltage insulation testers, AC/DC volt-ohm-milliamp meters, clamp-on ammeters, various kinds of hand-held power and non-power tools, etc.
    6. Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and ear protection).
    7. Collect data and complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
    8. Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor.
    9. Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor.
