Millwright maintains industrial machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand and power tools. Moves, assembles, installs or dismantles machinery. Being a Millwright interprets schematic diagrams, blueprints, and sketches. Analyzes plans for new equipment and maps out space to unpack and assemble new equipment. Additionally, Millwright troubleshoots problems and repairs or replaces worn or broken parts as necessary. May use equipment like forklifts, aerial lifters, and cranes to move heavy or unwieldy machinery. May perform welding, fabrication, or calibration as needed. Follows all work site safety requirements and regulations. Typically requires a high school diploma. May require OSHA Forklift Operator Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Millwright works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Millwright typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.   • Position Summary

    The Millwright will install, maintain and repair of a variety of piping and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishment, using hoists, lift trucks, hand-tools, and power tools. In addition, the millwright will read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

    Hiring Requirement/Preferences

    • High school diploma or equivalent and additional specialized training equal to a master craft designation.
    • Completion of apprenticeship program and appropriate journeyman experience required.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical construction trades.
    • Able to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy; follow instructions, read blueprints and make decisions based on measurable criteria.
    • Must be able to visualize objects in three-dimension; use logical step-by-step procedures in work; make decisions based on measurable information.
    • Must be able to adapt to frequent changes.
    • Physically, must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; coordinate eye-hand movement; use hands and fingers fully; climb and maintain balance; see and hear well (either naturally or with correction); and stand, stoop, kneel and crouch.
    • Pipefitter, and millwright licenses.
    • Must have a valid unrestricted Driver's License.
    • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen (including negative drug screen for cannabis/marijuana).
    • Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card. (company provided).
    • OSHA 10 Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).
