Milk Receiver receives all incoming grocery shipments. Examines merchandise for damage or defects. Being a Milk Receiver practices safe food handling procedures. Verifies shipment information against bill of lading or invoice. Additionally, Milk Receiver inputs required receiving data into system. Generates and attaches identification labels to products. Ensures that the receiving area is clean, safe, and secure and that packing materials are properly processed. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Milk Receiver works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. SUMMARY Receives milk from dairy tankers for pasteurizing and processing. Ensures compliance with company and federal quality standards.
Work Schedule Requirements: Must be available all shifts; to include nights, weekend and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receives milk from delivery trucks
Tests milk to ensure compliance with company and government quality standards
Assist with standardizing and pasteurizing milk process
Adhere to food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)
Utilize the established systems for inventory
Communicates with Quality Manager, and Production manager on product issues
Participates with improving workplace safety, reducing waste and improving factory efficiencies
Cleans and maintains equipment
Complete all required training in a timely manner
Performs all other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Process flow knowledge of dairy production
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers
Basic computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with automated equipment
Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Require standing, reaching, handling, climbing up and down ladders, scaffolds and other climbing devices, and near and far vision. Ability to lift 75 lb. and push/pull up to 200lbs.
