The Milk Technician’s position is responsible for the preparations, distribution, inventory, and management of Human Milk (HM), Donor Breast Milk (DBM), all feedings in the NICU and all Powdered formula preparation for Hoops Children’s hospital. This includes preparing formula, powdered formula, and human milk accurately according to established written formulations, following pre-established preparation procedures and adhering to quality control standards. Operates all equipment needed to prepare feedings for infants in a safe and responsible manner. Labels and stores prepared formula and human milk properly. Delivers prepared formulas and human milk to patient area refrigerators. Will deliver prepared powdered formula to appropriate Hoops Children’s department refrigerator. Maintains records of infant feeding inventory, preparation, and orders utilizing electronic record, barcoding, and other systems as appropriate. Disposes unused/expired feedings according to established protocols.
