Middleware Specialist performs design, development, installation, tuning, and maintenance of middleware applications. Provisions platforms and infrastructure with middleware solutions. Being a Middleware Specialist analyzes requirements to implement effective middleware architecture, resolve technical issues, and optimize performance. Defines and documents technical designs and system configurations. Additionally, Middleware Specialist coordinates with application development and cross-functional technical teams to enable and support middleware integrations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Middleware Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biological Science or equivalent. MLS / MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Three (3) to five (5) years in Laboratory Information Systems and/or experience in a high complexity clinical laboratory required.
LICENSURE
ASCP certification preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Working knowledge and experience with instrumentation and equipment used in a clinical laboratory. Knowledge of laboratory information systems demonstrating the ability to learn the middleware software rule development and the ability to understand how changes affects all areas of the system and user workflows. Laboratory experience is preferred, not required.
