Middleware Engineer jobs in West Jordan, UT
Middleware Engineer performs design, development, installation, tuning, and maintenance of middleware applications. Provisions platforms and infrastructure with middleware solutions. Being a Middleware Engineer analyzes requirements to implement effective middleware architecture, resolve technical issues, and optimize performance. Defines and documents technical designs and system configurations. Additionally, Middleware Engineer coordinates with application development and cross-functional technical teams to enable and support middleware integrations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Middleware Engineer works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. - 5 years of knowledge of middleware architectures, system design, analysis, java application tuning and performance management
- Application servers- Red Hat JBoss (JWS/EAP), Tomcat, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic
- Web Servers- Apache, JBCS Apache, IBM HTTP Server, IIS, Nginx
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Working knowledge of Information Technology infrastructure components (firewall, database, operating system, network)
- Effectively communicate problems and solutions both verbally and in writing to internal customers and management
- Problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions
- Motivated to find opportunities to improve solutions and processes, reduce the potential for production incidents and improve quality
