Middleware Engineer performs design, development, installation, tuning, and maintenance of middleware applications. Provisions platforms and infrastructure with middleware solutions. Being a Middleware Engineer analyzes requirements to implement effective middleware architecture, resolve technical issues, and optimize performance. Defines and documents technical designs and system configurations. Additionally, Middleware Engineer coordinates with application development and cross-functional technical teams to enable and support middleware integrations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Middleware Engineer works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. - Coordinate deliverables for construction closeout and turnover package development including review and closure of all subcontractor submittals, construction and verification test data, and subcontractor as-built documentation.
- Prepare engineering closeout documentation as part of client engineering verification of the construction turnover documentation.
- Provide Field Engineering expertise for development and management of project requirements, and verification / tracking of implementation of requirements through the project life cycle.
Required Skills/ Abilities- Minimum of five years previous experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of capital construction projects (i.e., understand role of contractor, designer, owner).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Capability to organize project documentation using various means (e.g., spreadsheets, databases).
- Capability with MS Office Suite and ability/willingness to learn new software packages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients, contractors, and consultant on a day-to-day basis.
- Self-starter with ability to work with limited oversight.
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Skills- Structural experience.
- Experience at LANL and nuclear facilities preferred.
Education- Engineering degree from Credited University or documented high level of engineering and project experience.
Physical Requirements- Ability to perform walk downs onsite.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without getting distracted
- May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
