    First State Community Bank is looking for a detail oriented and driven candidate to fill the role of Government Lending Manager.

    The Government Lending Manager position will be responsible for managing the lending program available through First State Community Bank to the public entity customer base. You will also work with local markets with all activities associated with loans made to public entities.

    Responsibilities in Accordance with Our Corporate Values

    Professionalism

    • Create and maintain an in-depth relationship with public funding legal counsel or other resources
    • Develop, continually enhance and oversee business calling program geared at long term success

    Accountability

    • Assist local markets with calling, documentation, approval and closing activities of loans made to public entities
    • Prepare ongoing administration functions to properly identify risk on individual transactions as well as the portfolio
    • Hold team accountable for results to achieve priorities and meeting department needs
    • Provide Management with appropriate reporting on concentration and demographic of Government Lending portfolio
    • Be an active participant in the budgeting process setting production, credit quality and administrative goals

    Initiative

    • Educate our First State teams on the various government lending programs available to our customer base
    • Support bank staff in discussing components of government lending programs with our customers or prospective customers

    Adaptability

    • Ability to work on multiple project simultaneously while managing time, resources and interruptions to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established time frames

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in business related field, Accounting or Finance
    • 7 to 10 years commercial, government or public entity lending experience
    • Ability to present information as subject matter expert for effective team collaboration results required
    • Proficient in effective verbal and written communication, with accurate and deliberate articulation
    • Ability to analyze and interpret public entity financial statements
    • Proficient use of analytical skills to visualize, articulate and solve problems with available information
    • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships required
    • Strong organizational skills required
    • Ability to travel periodically for business purposes, including travel across the First State footprint
