Meter Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of meter field service activities. Oversees and provides technical support to field staff regarding the reading of meters. Being a Meter Operations Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to supervise employees responsible for coordinating a variety of meter services, service orders, backflows, and programs, e.g., meter repairs, meter exchange, meter retirements, backflow testing, backflow repair, and customer related service orders. Employees in this classification function at entry level management; oversees and provides technical support to field staff regarding the reading of meters and recording utility billing data. Directly supervises Meter Technicians and Utility Systems Technicians and ensures they have necessary equipment needed to perform their tasks. Must possess a High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by seven (7) years responsible meter/utility system services experience, to include two (2) years in a lead capacity and demonstrated leadership skills; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Requires a Level 1 FDEP license in Water Distribution. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's license.
