Metallurgical Engineer jobs in Westfield, MA
Metallurgical Engineer designs and initiates processes for the manufacturing of metals from ores and for the operation of the related production equipment. Performs analysis and tests to aid in the development of new and improved metals and alloys as well as their applications to various products. Being a Metallurgical Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Metallurgical Engineer work is closely managed. Scope of Position:
Responsible for having a deep and technical understanding of our product offerings, our customers' applications, and to use this understanding to assist in all aspects of driving product definition, providing technical support, and taking the company and its products to market. - Provides technical support for sales and marketing (by application)
- Takes on the role of key technical expert for representatives and customers
- Writes detailed application documentation for Dadanco products
- Defines new products and new applications
- Hands-on jobsite visits
- Provides technical and application assistance for representatives and/or customers for new products
- Gathers data needed for competitive analysis or product development direction
- Solves customer application problems in a timely manner
- Provides technical and product application training to our customers and representatives
- Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested
