What you will do:
Ferroglobe has an immediate opening for a Equipment Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of mobile equipment used in our operations. This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.
· Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on all assigned mobile equipment, ensuring adherence to manufacturer recommendations and company standards.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
· Repair and replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components.
· Conduct overhauls and rebuild major components when necessary.
· Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including inspections, repairs, and parts used.
· Communicate effectively with service managers, supervisors, and equipment operators to identify and resolve equipment issues.
· Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
· May be required to travel to field locations to perform repairs on equipment that cannot be brought to the shop.
What we seek:
· MANDATORY: Possess a valid MSHA 5000-23 Certification
· Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Equipment Mechanic or similar role.
· Proven ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical and electrical systems.
· Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
· Experience with computerized diagnostic tools and equipment preferred.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong commitment to safety and quality.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
· Valid driver's license required.
