General Statement of Duties:

Perform customer service and clerical duties necessary for the effective operation of the Acquisitions unit.

Responsibilities:

• Provide quality customer service to library patrons.
• Create, track, and file acquisitions records
• Check for duplicate materials using the automated catalog system.
• Retrieve and reshelve materials from the collection as needed
• Complete assignments and projects as directed by Library Assistants.
• Provide patrons with accurate information related to library services and general policies.
• Help patrons navigate the library and locate resources in the stacks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1. Must be dependable.

2. Must be detailed oriented.

3. Ability to work without constant supervision.

4. Ability to handle personal information with extreme confidentiality.

5. Must be comfortable interacting with students, faculty, and members of the community.

6. Some computer skills and typing required.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working in a library or customer service environment.

2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Apps.

Shifts must be scheduled between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.
