Merchant Card Customer Service Manager manages a team of merchant card customer service representatives. Establishes service standards and monitoring processes to identify and resolve performance issues with team or service systems and procedures. Being a Merchant Card Customer Service Manager provides development and training that ensure the team is prepared to provide efficient service. Coordinates with other internal functions to provide any technical or other services that are needed. Additionally, Merchant Card Customer Service Manager recommends changes to products or services to fulfill customer needs and to address new or unmet business needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Merchant Card Customer Service Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Merchant Card Customer Service Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     We’ve got you covered with a variety of shifts. We are currently hiring for schedules with start times that range between the following hours:

    12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EST (OH, DE, MD, NJ, PA)

    10:00 AM - 11:00 AM MDT (Utah)

    9:00 AM - 10:00 AM MST (Arizona)

    Note: Shifts are Monday - Friday with weekends as assigned .

    What You’ll Do

    Responsible for handling routine customer service inquiries and problems via telephone, digital or chat channels through effective communication and problems solving skills. These routine customer service inquiries require the use of standard screens, scripts and procedures.

    Navigates a computerized system for responding and/or troubleshooting to customer questions.

    Must have excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills, as well as being comfortable with multi-tasking, as needed.

    Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

    If working from home, you will need a quiet workspace so you can focus on our customers. You’ll also need a minimum of 100 MBPS download/10 MBPS upload speed from your internet provider. A wired connection is required.

    We’ll provide you with all the equipment you need! Monitors, laptop, keyboard, mouse, headset, and an amazing new hire training experience. You’ll also have the best coaches to help you deliver the best service!

    How You’ll Do It

    Assists over 100 customers per day by energetically engaging in a fast-paced, back-to-back call environment via phone, online or chat.

    Brings empathy to customer inquiries about reward redemptions, customer information updates, card activations, making payments, processing lost or stolen cards, statement and APR inquires, and processes credit line increase and decrease requests.

    Leverages 2 standard screens, verbatim scripts and procedures.

    Utilizes multiple systems to respond to, troubleshoot and document customer inquiries.

    Builds the Discover Financial brand by providing industry-leading care and innovative solutions.

    Bonus Points If You Have

    H.S. Diploma or GED

    A credit screening may be required for some roles within Discover Home Lending.

    Compensation: The base pay for this position generally ranges between $17.00 to $18.98. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
