Merchant Card Customer Service Manager manages a team of merchant card customer service representatives. Data Manager - Capital Markets

  • As the Data Manager on the Capital Markets team, you will lead the development of databases, pipelines, reporting & analytics, automation and forecasting that will enable Stori to level up its capital markets operations during our next major phase of growth. In the coming months, Stori will introduce new debt capital providers to its stack while launching several new products and product features. We need an experienced data professional with strong finance fundamentals and direct prior exposure to asset-backed lending structures. You will lead the buildout, development and refinement of the infrastructures which will power successful operations for our multi-million dollar debt facilities as they finance new and existing products. You will also guide Stori teams to develop products and processes which are always eligible for external debt funding. This role will directly support our existing financing facilities, as well as new capital raises and lender onboarding. The role will also play a pivotal role in developing the data mechanisms necessary to track and report on new products and new product features. The role will involve heavy collaboration across internal Data, Tech, Credit, and Product teams. You will be expected to manage multi-team projects with strong communication leading to cross-team clarity and high-efficiency. This role is ideal for gaining direct experience building new products and standing up new financing structures in the context of building a high-growth fintech.

    Main responsibilities

    • Database and Reporting Infrastructure Build-out: Scope the requirements for new debt facilities or new products and lead the creation of new automated reporting infrastructures while driving consistency and data compliance all the way from the lender output up to the Core banking and processing system
    • Data Oversight, Management and Decision-Making: Supervise and lead the collection, validation, and organization of data sets, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with business intent to monitor and forecast the performance of Stori’s debt facilities.
    • Leadership in Data Integrity: Take a lead role in maintaining data integrity and accuracy, serving as a crucial link between the Capital Markets team and business definitions, and our internal data and tech teams. Ensure that decisions, reports to lenders, potential investors, and regulators are based on accurate and reliable data
    • New Product Funding: Work with the Product and Credit teams to define paths, plans and milestones for new products and new product features to become eligible for external debt-funding.
    • Strategic Insights: Opportunistically extract insights from large datasets, providing actionable recommendations to enhance portfolio performance and inform decision-making. Maintain robust monitoring mechanisms and data visualizations to communicate key findings and metrics to internal stakeholders and potential investors.
    • Portfolio and Process Optimization: Work closely with Stori’s Data Team to stay up to date on system and database changes. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance operational efficiency and scalability. Work with Data and Tech teams to implement innovative solutions for data management and reporting.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal finance, credit, product, technology and data teams to drive strategic initiatives.

    Hard Skills

    •  Experience with asset-backed lending structures, reporting and diligence requirements ●
    • Advanced understanding of Finance fundamentals 
    •  4-6 years of professional data analytics experience in some combination of Risk, Business Intelligence/Analytics, Data Science, Finance or Banking. ●
    • Proficiency in SQL (4 years) 
    •  Strong Data Analysis, visual representation and MS Excel skills 
    • Advanced knowledge of Python or another scripting language 
    •  At least 1 year of experience with Quicksight, Redshift and other AWS cloud platforms like EC2, S3 
    • Proficient in utilizing and developing within AWS services 
    •  Experience in automating and maintaining data transformation/reporting data pipelines via airflow or other orchestration tool 
    • Advanced knowledge in good data literacy management, including data quality monitoring, metadata management, and etc.

    Desirable Skills

    • ●Fluent Mandarin and/or Spanish language is a plus
