Merchant Card Customer Service Manager manages a team of merchant card customer service representatives. Establishes service standards and monitoring processes to identify and resolve performance issues with team or service systems and procedures. Being a Merchant Card Customer Service Manager provides development and training that ensure the team is prepared to provide efficient service. Coordinates with other internal functions to provide any technical or other services that are needed. Additionally, Merchant Card Customer Service Manager recommends changes to products or services to fulfill customer needs and to address new or unmet business needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Merchant Card Customer Service Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Merchant Card Customer Service Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Markel Corporation (NYSE MKL), a global insurance holding company, is adding to the Customer Service team to better service Markel customers! We’re currently seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSRs) who would like to increase their insurance knowledge and build their skills while making a positive impact on Markel’s customers.

    We provide exceptional customer service through our simple processes, honest communications and employee expertise.

    Responsibilities include :

    • Work diligently to find resolution to customer concerns and escalate to appropriate level when necessary.
    • Convey information efficiently, effectively, and appropriately in order to meet the needs of the customer.
    • Strive for first call resolution in order to provide best in class service.

    CSRs are required to stay current and knowledgeable of all procedures to ensure department standards and guidelines are meet, which include : Schedule Adherence, Quality Assurance, First Contact Resolution, Average Talk Time, Average Handle Time, Average Speed of Answer and Coding.

    Qualifications / Skill sets :

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
    • Dedicated to providing a positive customer experience
    • Communicate clearly and professionally over the phone
    • Strong technical background / ability to multi-task in several systems at once
    • Willingness to learn new material and systems / applications
    • Accountable and reliable
    • Bilingual required (English / Spanish)

    Requirements :

    • Property & Casualty Insurance license highly preferred
    • High school diploma or equivalent; some college is a plus!
    • 1 or more years of prior customer service experience preferred
    • Demonstrated job stability and attendance records
    • Solid computer, grammar and multi-tasking skills
    • Comfort with a high-volume service center

    Benefits Included : Immediate health & dental benefits, paid vacation and holidays, a 401k match, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement policy, hybrid working environment (3 days onsite and 2 days working from home), paid training onsite - up to 4 weeks and $1000 retention bonus paid out after six months with restrictions.
