Job Summary
The Planner / Contract Coordinator role plans all corrective, preventive, and condition-based maintenance jobs for the plant using Maximo and other databases.
The Planner visits the jobsite to determine the resources needed to complete the job in the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective manner.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.Directly or through others, the incumbent will :
- Required understanding of the functional operation of Maximo / other maintenance systems and proper implementation of the procedures.
- Directly evaluates the status of the running equipment in the assigned area on a daily basis and communicates with various other departments within the plant to verify potential problem areas.
Generates the appropriate actions either by creating work orders or by entering data into the computer-based maintenance system so the appropriate repairs can be planned and completed including interactive communications with the Scheduler.
- The Planner / Contract Coordinator is directly responsible for creating work orders; creating new standard job plans and revising existing standard job plans;
- building, maintaining, reviewing, and correcting the database; continually monitoring and correcting job estimates on repeatable jobs;
- closing schedules and review closed schedule comments to evaluate for any additional actions; build and modify bill of materials lists in the database;
and generate reports as required and any other duties as set by the scheduler in order to support the area’s daily efforts
- The Planner / Contract Coordinator will have to understand the job functions of the Scheduler and will fill that position if the Scheduler is away from the plant.
- The Planner / Contract Coordinator must understand the computer-based maintenance technology and apply it by interpreting and utilizing the supporting data to properly plan up-coming projects.
Incorporate the latest code, safety, and regulatory changes to the current daily plans.
- Understands all of the equipment and maintenance activities in the assigned area well enough to give an accurate work duration, a detailed description of the tools required, the materials to be used, and how the work will to be performed for a specific job.
- Arrange, coordinate, provide direction, and directly supervise contracting work forces and will be accountable for controlling particular project assignments relative to work scope, safety, quality, production, and cost management.
- Arrange and track off-site equipment repairs and will be responsible for providing a scope of work, schedule timelines, and cost control.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 5-7 years of mechanical, electrical maintenance, or related experience; power plant highly preferred.
- Operating procedures, safety procedures, auxiliary equipment, fuel handling equipment, fossil plant planning, clearance procedures, experience in computer maintenance management systems and an understanding of computer-based maintenance programs.
Preferred Experience :
- Good understanding of SCR, carbon injection and dry sorbent operations and maintenance. Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Good computer skills using Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
- Good leadership, communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ensure planning package are complete including required permits, work instructions, materials and required notifications.
- Communicate with other planners to ensure that priority of work being planned is correct and meets the plant needs.
- Perform post work package reviews to ensure that work instructions were completed.
- Modify work instructions when required after performing post work reviews.
- Review estimated versus actual man- hours for accuracy.
- Maintain and update as required work package instructions.
Primary shift will be working night shift.
