Being a Merchandise Planner - Produce controls ordering, inventory, and quality of produce. Responsible for increasing business with new and existing customers. Additionally, Merchandise Planner - Produce may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Opportunity to execute and improve the following areas:
· Locate and select the specific warehouse items to fulfill the customer’s order
· Perform visual inspections of orders to ensure accuracy according to quantity, size, etc.
· Build pallets with orders and position them to loading docks
· Wrap orders before loading on trucks
· Maintain equipment and report on equipment malfunctions
· Comply with all applicable OSHA and Food Safety regulations
· Keep warehouse clean from debris and organized
Competencies, Education, and Skills to be Successful:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent.
· Speak and write English satisfactorily
· At least 1 year of recent and successful experience performing the above functions in a significant manufacturing or warehouse/distribution environment. Prefer that such experience is in the food industry.
· Valid identification or driver’s license (if appropriate)
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work with others in a team environment
· Active listening skills
Physical Demands:
· Stand or walk for long periods of time
· Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs
· Work in cold and wet cooler environment for extended periods of time
Schedule:
· 1st Shift (8:00am-4:00pm)
· 2nd Shift (2:00pm-10:00pm)
· 3rd Shift (10:00pm-6:00am)
