The Associate Merchandise Planner develops financial and unit plans for a category or cross-category assortment based on knowledge of business insights and analytics, trends within the marketplace, and guest mix at Theme Parks and Resorts for The Walt Disney Company!
You will also develop high-level revenue benchmarks to drive key growth initiatives in multiple channels. You will evaluate the assortment and react to in-season performance, trends, and takeaways to inform & adjust future season’s assortment and inventory position.

Every single day in the Associate Merchandise Planner role is different! On any one day, you might:
Own retail plans with full accountability to revenue, inventory, and cost of goods to meet financial growth objectives within a specific category or cross-category assortment.
In partnership with your leader, build high-level revenue benchmarks to achieve growth and profitability that align with business objectives.
Manage product releases or other merchandise initiatives on all channels to mitigate financial gaps year over year.
Build item plans to support the high-level benchmarks/strategies that drive purchases.
Develop stratification of items to optimize SKU productivity and ensure inventory management of item/category.
Leverage weekly business insights to understand item level performance to maximize in season opportunities, minimize liability, and inform future seasons.
Partner with Merchandiser to maximize buys through a clear understanding of comp items, product lifecycle, and determine cannibalization to meet financial objectives.
Provide a forecast of sales, inventory, and margin monthly based on performance with cause of change for monthly open-to-buy meetings.
Collaborate with key partners to identify pricing and liquidation opportunities to manage the transition of products.
Proactively provide communication on stock availability.
1 years of retail planning experience
Proficient in Microsoft tools & Business Objects
