Responsible for reviewing stock to sales ratios, responding to changing sales trends, and ensuring plan sales, plan markups, and plan markdowns are achieved by departments. Being a Merchandise Planner plans and coordinates merchandise flow-through. Inputs and maintains data in various merchandising systems. Additionally, Merchandise Planner may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Merchandise Planner gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     What you will be doing:
    This Planner 1/2/3 position serves as the Northern Region's (Fairbanks Field Office) promotion, development, and implementation of the department's capital program for the DOT&PF Northern Region. Under direct supervision of the Planning Manager and guidance of the Transportation Planners, the incumbent will conduct complex planning studies; compile project background reports, project status reports, project nominations packages, and white papers; and assist in the preparation and revision of Alaska’s multi-year surface transportation, aviation, and other modal system improvement plans and programs for a specific Northern Region planning sub-area. The incumbent will represent DOT&PF to assure that transportation facilities, systems, and needs are adequately addressed.
