Merchandise Planner plans and forecasts for future merchandise buys based on historical buys, reoccurring buys and current inventory levels. Responsible for reviewing stock to sales ratios, responding to changing sales trends, and ensuring plan sales, plan markups, and plan markdowns are achieved by departments. Being a Merchandise Planner plans and coordinates merchandise flow-through. Inputs and maintains data in various merchandising systems. Additionally, Merchandise Planner may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Merchandise Planner gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. The City of Weatherford’s Development and Neighborhood Services Department is looking to hire a Planner. This position Performs a variety of entry-level to mid-level professional and technical level planning work on difficult, complex and/or sensitive planning projects and programs involving the administration, research analysis, data assembly, prepares and develops technical reports, special studies, draft regulations, grants and related documents and field work in support of the Department program for The City of Weatherford. This position will be involved in all facets of city planning, including land use, zoning, transportation, neighborhood, historical and public facility planning, maps, and presentation graphics for long range and current planning projects. Roles & Responsibilities Include:
• A bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, or related field. • Experience in community or urban planning is a plus; or any combination of experience, education or training that may produce the desired qualifications. • Must have valid Texas Driver’s License and driving record must meet or surpass guidelines as set forth by the City of Weatherford.
