    Job Summary:

    The Merchandise Planner will own the role of developing, executing, and communicating merchandise financial plans & forecasts and strategies that support the category merchandising, marketing, and financial objectives across several channels of distribution. You are responsible for analyzing historical trends to influence pre-season forecasts while simultaneously hitting in-season financial sales, margin, and inventory targets. Comfort with reporting and recapping without prejudice the facts and needs to address based on will be critical in this role. This is an analytical job-we need someone who is detail oriented and excellent with managing and owning data . They will need to prepare and report data in informational ways with observations, conclusions and recommend or take actions with inventory. This role is highly influential across the organization and must work well with others in-directly.

    What you will do:

    • Drive financial results that maximize sales, manage effectively inventory, and optimize profitability across multiple channels of distribution
    • Create pre-season plans/ forecasts and manage in-season sales forecasts and inventory across multiple channels of distribution
    • Build plans that are secure but align to top line annual commercial growth strategies
    • Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities by category of business and in some cases by item
    • Assist in execution of forecasting/planning system roll out
    • Create and report Selling (Sell In for Wholesale / Sell Out for DTC) Weekly Monthly Seasonally
    • Will create seasonal product productivity and effectiveness analysis to present assortment planning recommendation. Drops / Adds / Expand
    • Will do price elasticity and competitive pricing analysis to support merchandising team and sales team on seasonal price plans
    • Process, predict and analyze product demand including specific factors relating to product promotions, creative promotions, and seasonality
    • Seek solutions to business obstacles and process opportunities
    • Be nimble and fast with data analysis and updating plans and forecasts to impact trends. Mainly positive trends to maximize sales and optimize margins but negatively too for effective inventory management
    • Inventory quality manager. Freshness, end of season levels of expiring products,
    • Lifecycle planning
    • Owns OTB/Inventory governance
    • Plans inventory and TOS. “Turn Over Speed”

    How you will do it:

    • Collaborate with all departments to develop pre-season strategies that align with future financial and product opportunities
    • Work across the organization to ensure timely and accurate execution of in-season product strategies
    • Develop knowledge of new reporting systems, planning tools, and multiple distribution channels
    • Through sophisticated analysis skills. Build analysis’, Break even analysis’s (i.e. Price & Promotion vs margin $ & %)
    • Manage inventory and constantly strive for improved productivity

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field (Required)
    • 3 years of related professional experience
    • US work authorization (Required)

    What we expect you to already know:

    • Retail Fundamentals and Business Acumen: Open to Buy, Inventory Management, Sales/Inventory forecasting
    • Internal relationship management
    • Sound decision-making skills and the ability to plan and prioritize short range and long range projects
    • Flexibility and Agility- quickly understand, assess and problem solve
    • Effective verbal communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
    • Intermediate to Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Creating dynamic reports with PivotTables
    • Understanding Excel building formulas such as IF, INDEX, MATCH, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, CONCATENATE, TRIM and other financial and text formulas
    • Excel Macros is a plus
    • Understands and has experience in data exports from systems and data bases to create reporting
    • NetSuite experience is a plus

    This is an in-office position located in Bozeman, Montana
