Merchandise Planner - Bakery jobs in Biddeford, ME

Pine Tree Bakery is a new business opening in Westbrook, Maine along Route 302. We will offer single serving pastries and desserts, hand crafted espresso and coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and a selection of soups, salads and sandwiches for lunch. Additionally, we will offer special orders for our customers to enjoy on holidays and special occasions. We are seeking a part time Bakery Assistant to assist with front of house operations.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Package or plate food items from the display case.

2. Prepare espresso and other beverages as ordered by customer.

3. Follow procedures and guidelines to ensure high food quality, minimize food waste and ensure safe handling of food.

4. Assist customers with requests including answering questions about the menu or display case items.

5. Use the point-of-sale system to process customer payments.

6. Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen and dining rooms including but not limited to dishwashing, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and equipment, sweeping and mopping floors, and trash removal.

7. Maintain cleanliness of the restrooms.

8. Replenish supplies.

9. Answer the main phone line and address customer inquiries/take messages.

10. Other duties as assigned.

Required skills and experience:

1. Strong Communicator, experience with customer service.

2. Ability to follow defined procedures.

3. Ability to complete tasks efficiently.

Preferred but not required skills & experience (we will train the right candidate):

4. Experience working in a bakery, restaurant, or similar establishment.

5. Basic piping/decorating skills.

6. Food Safety Certification from an accredited program (such as ServSafe)

Shift Information:

As scheduled Wednesday-Sunday during open hours of 7am-3pm. Up to 20 hours per week. Flexible schedule. There may be an opportunity for additional hours in excess of 20 during peak times or to cover for team member absences.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
