Additionally, Merchandise Buyer, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. JOB PURPOSE: The Buyer will negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services used by Bruss North America. Work directives will include guidelines from our German headquarters. The Buyer is also responsible for management techniques and practices appropriate with purchasing practices and policies within the automotive manufacturing industry.
AUTHORITY: All employees have the authority to stop operations/production for the following three reasons: 1) a quality defect, 2) an unsafe act, or 3) a health hazard.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience, Competencies and Education
An experienced worker with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing field. An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image, good judgment and strong operational focus. A well organized and self-directed individual who has great attention to detail. An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills. An excellent negotiator who is experienced in contracts. Bachelor’s Degree (BS) or equivalent experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
