Position Summary:
Develop supply base, negotiate pricing, term, and agreements for materials utilized (in the production of NISCO products) (in support of NISCO business operations). Optimizes the overall cost of materials. Implement supply chain strategies and ensure execution of company pricing and terms & conditions agreements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Execute and sustain commodity strategies and work cross functionally with Manufacturing, Sales and Engineering.
Understand and investigate key market dynamics and commodity trends including raw materials to validate cost competitiveness.
Select and qualify vendors to include negotiating vendor agreements and contracts.
Support the new program prototype build and launches. Coordinate new component part and material development with engineers and suppliers.
Coordinate import shipments and documentation such as country of origin and customs documents.
Liaison between manufacturing and the supplier base regarding quality, delivery concerns and returns including VRMA cost recovery.
Identify and implement lean NCR21 saving projects through supply chain and operations involvement; lead cross functional teams as necessary to realize lean savings.
Manage supply base with respect to their ability to provide products and services in accordance with the organization’s business requirements, cost parameters, terms and agreements.
Develop and sustain relationships with key internal and external customers.
Act as a mentor for colleagues; lead projects as defined by leadership.
Approve and administer appropriate purchase orders. Sign off and DSP’s (Coordinate quotations and costing with other buyers).
Support the resolution of critical supply chain issues and maintain supplier relationships.
Maintain commercial documents as needed.
Supports Environmental requirements such as SOC and TSCA.
Education and Qualifications:
5 years relevant experience in an Automotive environment.
Demonstrated negotiating experience with Automotive suppliers
Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain/Purchasing or related field.
CPM or CPIM Certification preferred.
Computer skills utilizing Microsoft office tools.
Experience with ERP system such as IQMS, SAP, etc.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence others.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience leading diverse or cross-functional teams/projects (preferred).
Manufacturing or technical knowledge (preferred).
