Additionally, Merchandise Buyer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Merchandise Buyer typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. A Bachelors Degree in supply chain management, business administration or a related field is required. A minimum of five to eight years’ experience is also preferred. Individual should have a thorough knowledge of purchasing procedures and techniques.
